The Best Gift

Well...What did you get? and what did you give?

We just finished opening presents and are headed to see family in about an hour. My girls really enjoyed giving this year. They took great joy in trying to find the perfect present for us and other family members. Maybe there was just a hint of competitiveness..."I gave a better gift than anybody else." We like to think that we came up with the most creative, thoughtful and/or useful gifts.

There is a gift though that is the best gift that you can give. You can't buy it in a store or put in on layaway but it is the most creative, thoughtful and useful thing you can give.

It is your words.

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

Take the time during this great season of celebrating "The Word" becoming flesh and "flesh out" the words you need to say to those you love. Who do you need to call? To whom do you need to write a note, email or text?

The best gift a human being can give is the gift of words.
