Wait for it...Wait for it
Wait.
That word kind of stinks. Nobody likes to wait. Not the kid in Walmart, not a family in the waiting room and not me in the DMV waiting to get my 15 year old's driving permit. In a culture that is consumed with instant gratification we have this perceived need for NOW.
In the beginning Adam and Eve had everything they could ever desire but even then the devil tempted them with more...NOW. Ever since the fall humanity has played, what feels like at times, an incessant waiting game. It took Noah forever to build that boat and then they had to wait for the dry land to appear. Abraham had to wait until he was old in age to see the fulfillment of God's promise. Joseph had to wait to see the fulfillment of His dream. The Israelites had to wait to go into the promise land. David had to wait to build the temple. Wait for it.
This is no accident. God wasn't napping. It is often in the wait that God does the most in us. It is in the time of struggle and doubt and fear that God in His amazing wisdom works miracles; not in our circumstance but in our souls.
If you are in the "wait" now then God is producing strength in you.
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (Isa. 40:31)
It is amazing how easy it is to come back from a vacation and be exhausted. Although, rest and leisure are given by God for us to enjoy and find renewal in, only God can take away our weariness. In the "wait" it is His strength that carries and renews. As we surrender to His timing He empowers us to do all that He has called us to do. Wait for it...and find strength in Him.
If you are in the "wait" now then God is providing for you.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that he may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name. Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you. (Ps. 33:18- 22)
At the end of all of our silly striving is God. If you are waiting, then you are waiting on Him. He is providing the best possible situation for the calling He has for you. Wait for it...and know that God is providing.
No matter what you are waiting for today, God is looking down on you giving you strength and providing the best possible situation, for the best possible outcome, that will ultimately be the best for you and for His glory. Wait for it.
